Slacker!

And sometimes I'm proud of it.

Right now I'm just letting the world know (regardless of how much it doesn't care :p ) I'm back to my artsy sparkling ways :3 mroww!! (super excited in kitty cat's language), which means: I'll finally have some pictures/drawings posted in this godforsaken blog.
I know, too much blah, blah, blah, and nothing to distract people from it and kind of  like, wake them up. That might change. As for when will that be? Uh...  This is my 3rd post this month so, considering how much of a slacker I am (brain status: math processes going on at the speed of a dead raccoon)... ok, I don't know but it will happen!

Kbye!

What you see is what you are.

Overall I'm a little weird and I have the theory that we all look outside what we are inside. Like, I love weird movies, a movie with good content doesn't need to be flashy and/or full of CGI and famous names, ok, I love the so called Indie movies (but I swear I'm no hipster at all! I love new clothes and sky-high heels), mostly because they tell different stories, sometimes the same stories but in a different way, hey! at least they try! specially considering the lack of millions.
I don't mind watching blockbusters most of the time, but after so many years watching movies of all kinds my favorites are either animated, indie or from directors who sell well but don't care much about winning an Oscar or some other lame piece of metal (Glass is where it's at, ladies and gentlemen!). I'd always pick an indie movie I've never heard of before in my life over a well publicized, hundreds-of-millions-budged movie, just a personal choice.
Ok, indie movies are actually 'weird' but I do enjoy the 'underground' aspect of it. I've never been to good with mainstream deals, it's just so much publicity everywhere that by the time I have a chance to see the movie I'm not really excited anymore or sometimes I can get sick of seeing it everywhere that I'd rather wait to rent the movie or something. What can I say? I love surprises and the unexpected.
Another thing I've realized is that most adults are so worried about being 'adults' they forget how fun and awesome animated movies are. Of course not all of them are that way but they deserve a chance! Most 'adults' downplay those as 'kids movies' regardless, and don't bother on taking them seriously enough to at least pay attention, just because it's animated or based on a children's book; even if they're force to see it because they're taking a kid to the movies which, I think, is really sad (not taking children to the movies, the other thing). But it's because what I used as the headline is true! 'Adults' don't take kids seriously and they think they're like little retards, that's why when they have kids they're like 'ZOMG!!! they CAN think, WTF?!'. So, they perceive 'kids movies' are retarded and are not to be taken seriously, unlike a 'real' movie.
We obviously watch things we like, but when you see such lame ass movies like Twilight making millions, when, gosh... I'll never get over how TERRIBLE the first book is and my brain cannot understand how, HOW?!, people can actually PAY to see it and then buy DVDs, Blu-Rays, posters, etc, etc... I get a headache and feel my braincells die just thinking about it. And, that's just an example of how easy is to manipulate teenagers and desperate-for-affection ladies/old-hags are. That's what they like, because that's what they are. If  anyone were to take them to see something different, chances are they won't like it as much or at all.
Most blockbusters, in my honest opinion, are made for teenagers and/or people without a clear idea of what they want in their lives so they watch anything its made to be liked by undeveloped minds. All is good, I mean, teenagers are still discovering themselves and all that crap, so they have a free pass here; but if you're not on your teens and still eat all the crap they feed you thinking it's the best without questioning it then: SHAME ON YOU!.
Of course, not all of them are made that way, some aren't even expected to become one in the first place, and are very much well worth the time; or introduce new technologies, whatsoever.
Indie movies aren't really an exception or an epitome of freewill, like, there are a bunch of freaks or peeps with low self-esteem that need to only watch those kind of movies so they can feel special, different and smarter than the rest. Seriously... dude, if all you see is that, you can't even justify with a smart argument if they're better or not than commercial movies, you can't have a point of comparison at all. Trust me, not all indie movies are good and not all blockbusters are a waste for our intellects.
What we see is what we are, actually. I mean I do know some people who watch certain things just to play the cool kid, the ones who just watch the most publicized movies to feel ahead of the ones who don't give a crap, the ones who hate horror movies and think they're a waste of time or love horror movies and hate romance, etc. I know there are different kinds of movies because we all happen to be different and have diverse tastes for everything, that's fine, but when you go around prejudging and not trying new things out, then you know you have something to work with.
You can tell a lot of things about a person for the things they watch, the things they won't watch, and the way they react to those things.
Something I loved to do when I was in college was to randomly show up at the movies and watch whatever was playing next, I have to say it was always fun and there were no expectation so whatever it was, was just fine, plus, with a giant bag of popcorn you can't go wrong, never!
As always, just caring about one side of the spectrum and thinking that's the only way to go is a HUGE mistake a lot of people make. That shows, of course, closeness of mind and that must be so boring! I don't know about the rest of the world, but I'd hate to miss out, a bit of everything is always more enjoyable.
Keep your mind open and maybe, just maybe, you can find more than you think about yourself through movies and shiz than with the thing you currently watch, read, listen to, etc.

Think, think and think again.

And I should write stuff often if I want to get some recognition... hahaha!
Anyway!

The wise reminder of the week is about thinking. The non-perfect deal is in the previous post so if you missed it, well, you had like 3 months to read it! (to start with) and you can always click on the link and go back and read it (but you should have done that 3 months ago >_> ).
I know how most of us get caught over-thinking, like that's going to solve something or anything! It's ok, we're humans, some of us like to think more than others but, the point here is that we shouldn't just think about things and torture ourselves about it.
I've been going through some serious thinking myself and some of it is necessary but there are some thoughts that aren't and, yes, it is hard to identify which one is helping me and which one is just making me feel worst so, when in doubt, trust your feelings. Exactly, those weird things that randomly make you cry over a movie or book or because the world is messed up or that song that reminded you of something or someone; or that makes you laugh like a maniac over nothing, smile to yourself over good memories, or get angry at stupid people for being stupid and so on.
I have to say this, because I know there is a lot of stupidity in the world, it's not as simple as saying "I feel disgusted! this must be bad" or "I feel good so this must be good for me". No, it's not the shallow idea of the feeling what tells us if it's good or bad, it's the rationalized feeling what gives us the answer. Yeah, I don't care much if it sounds "too complicated" because it's really simple: When you feel something that bothers you, go third party mode and ask yourself: why are you feeling that way?. 'Why' is the magic question. Remember, don't go around giving dumb answers or just say something to make yourself feel better about things or to keep being all emo. Be honest!. After all, it's all about understanding and answers aren't always pretty and cuddly, they're simple and direct.
Like, ok, maybe your bf or gf are good peeps but you still don't feel too sure about it. Ask why! and go 3rd party mode, if you were a friend witnessing that, what would you tell that friend to do? We all care about our friends, we will always tell them to do what's best for them so, why not do what's best for us?
We over-think about things that we've done or said or didn't do or say; what good does that do? can you fix it by just thinking about it? of course not but, could it be fixed in any way? then think about a solution instead of thinking on new ways to torture yourself. That's how you identify the useful from the useless thoughts.
If you're feeling bad and thinking mean things about yourself and the world, that not necessarily are taking you anywhere but the pill drawer, then you have a bad, useless thought :3  If, on the other hand, yes, you feel bad but you're thinking how to make things better or fix it, that's a good thought.
FYI; the thoughts that also go all like: "let's drink until I end up having bathroom sex with a stranger because the world sucks and I'm stupid anyway", you've guessed right, that's a bad, useless thought ( :D Yay! cookies for all!). I mean, there's nothing wrong about getting distracted when you're feeling down but at least do it in a way that shows some self-respect. Go to the movies, read a book, watch a new series, go out for a coffee with friends, go to a concert, meet up with your friends to be silly, or simply do something different!.
I don't drink or smoke or w/e because I don't get the point on doing so, it's expensive, useless and a superficial distraction. But that's another story.
Soooo... yeah, I think that's the basics of smart thinking when in trouble. I guess the most important factor is to always take care of yourself. We all feel down at some point and think we suck, in a bad way, but at the end we should always strive to feel good again (Hurting the least people possible in the process, as well).
Taa daaa! I think I'm done for now.

Don't be a procrastinator and have a good week! :3

This is how it is.

Wherever you are, if someone expresses any disagreement or makes a "not so friendly comment" you'll always find someone who would say "If you don't like it, go away!" but, is that even right to say? I mean, sometimes you can like something but not everything about it. In my opinion, that applies to most things, at least a 99% of things, if you have a brain and use it.
Not everything is black or white, on the contrary, most things are in gray scale never reaching 100% white nor 100% black. Meaning: Most things aren't completely good nor completely bad.
Yes, that applies to people too.
For example; Overall, I think Lady Gaga is overrated and her songs sound the same or as recycled songs from the 80s and her fashion is just a cry-out-loud: LOOK AT MEEEE!. She must have been a very insecure kid... Anyway! That doesn't mean I don't enjoy 2-3 songs of her (I said she's overrated not completely useless :p ), and that doesn't make me a hypocrite. I don't hate her or anything, I keep things real.
Nothing and no one is perfect. That just happens in Disney fairytales and we all know they aren't real (if you didn't know that you fail at life). There, either you are completely bad or completely cute and good, and awesome and all that. And both extremes are wrong. Well, I do actually dislike more the goody-goody good than the bad ones, I think it's mostly because people worry so much about being good and perfect according to what others think is being good and perfect. We all saw Enchanted (if not, go see it!), that doesn't work very well in the real world. Specially because, in real life, there is no CG animals that will clean and sew horrible dresses for us.
Like all those ancient stuff about Karma and the Ying-Yang. There is good and evil in everyone but, honestly, I don't like saying "evil", that just makes you feel bad and want to reject it. We all are imperfect and our job during our lifetime is to learn from our imperfections and be the best each of us can be. I didn't say perfect! because perfection doesn't exist and if it did then ask yourself this: Perfect according to who? Your mom? Your dad? Your hot neighbor? The Kardashians?
Hope you get the point.
Like, we all love our parents, some more or less than others, but our parents are humans, they're people too! so, apart from having feelings, they also are imperfect and that is just fine. Every one of us is different from one another, we can have some things in common but there is no other person like you or me. That's why we'll always have (or become...) the friend in the abusive relationship who doesn't want to leave the bf/gf, or the friend who is always in need of something, or the friend who is always there to help us, or the friend who is always doing something stupid and we all want to slap to death, or the wanna be popular friend, etc. They all are our friends even though they have issues and what not, why? because, at some level, we understand they are different from us and no one is perfect. But when it comes to parents we forget they can be all that too or we feel with the right to ask them to be perfect. Dude, for real, being imperfect is about tolerance and respecting anyone's imperfections. If you haven't noticed, you are NOT perfect and being all emo and/or stupid is not bringing you closer to it.
That's why the message of the week is: We should not work on being perfect, we should work on being the best we can be.
And that is how it is.

MTV Fail: Best?! Choreography.

What happened to the cool choreographies music videos used to have? Did they really disappear when Britney Spears got fat and crazy? Oh, and had those knee surgeries too! (I didn't forget :D )
I mean, now we have Lady Gaga doing the "where did the fly go?" movements to get a nomination just because she's weird, ugly and desperate for attention. Yes, THAT got nominated to best choreography of the year. She can't dance, the 'choreographies' are dumb, there are any cool movements that show any kind of skill at all. Dressing weird shouldn't be a reason to be nominated to that category. Choreographies are about (read carefully) DANCING. Weird, huh?
I keep watching the video and waiting for the choreography that got her nominated.
Another nominee is Britney Spears but, I have to say this, memories shouldn't be nominated either. I mean, goddamn, she could dance back in the day! I seriously believe there was no other girl who would dance like her back then, BUT! those days are long gone. 'Til the World Ends does not have any choreography worthy to be called 'The Best', unlike I'm a Slave 4 U (which is like the "shinny" version of 'Til the World Ends) or like, even the lousy slow pop songs she came up with in her first album had better dancing! (go check Sometimes). I felt like I was watching Christina Aguilera back in the Dirty days... and that's not a good memory.
Then we have Bruno Mars with his Lazy Song, while he's no Justin Timberlake (obviously) nor the chimps are. The song is funny and so is the choreography but I wonder if that's enough to go for a title that should be reserved to the best of the best. The Lazy Song with a lazy choreography of pelvis movement... I'd not give him the nomination but maybe a honorific mention for the... effort?.
Another video I was watching and waiting for the choreography was LMFAO's... really? they got a nomination? Now I see why Gaga got hers. Same technique but inverse. Instead of arms they were kicking and, for around 10 seconds, kicked with a few dancers at the same time but, like Gaga, no real skill required or whatsoever.
If you put all those 4 together agains the 5th nominee, Beyonce, those poor guys have NOTHING. She can dance! (even though I hate the song). She is perfect (specially in comparison with the other 4). Great movements, skill, everything goes amazing with the music and it's not only flapping your arms aimlessly (Lady Gaga) or trying to kill that damn roach desperately (LMFAO's video). She has strength, precision and rhythm (unlike Britney and Bruno).
Seriously, if you can't find any choreography worthy to be called "The Best", don't waste your time and nominate crap just because, you'll do so much better just to announce Beyonce won and that would be it. Or, for that matter, rename it to "Choreography of the Year" and save the Best for the ones who deserve it.
Yes, I said it, and I don't regret it.
